At Balshaw Lane, we have always aimed to offer a rich, vibrant curriculum in a happy environment.

Whilst we aim for high academic standards, test results are not our sole purpose.

We want our pupils to leave school feeling confident, with a strong desire for life-long learning.


Results 2020 and 2021

Due to the Covid-19 lockdowns, national tests (SATs) were cancelled in 2020 and 2021.

They are due to go ahead in 2022.



Only the Phonics Check still went ahead in Autumn 2020 and 2021 for the children in Year 2. 

2021 84.5% and 2020 88.3% passed, above the national average, as in the previous three years.
