Patterdale Sunday 15th May 2016

Morning everyone! We are all up, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. We're all fit and well, no issues. The children and staff are just finishing their cooked breakfast before we get ready for today's activities. The weather is superb again so we're bound to have another fantastic day.

Yesterday was a brilliant day: the sun was shining, the activities were great fun and the children really enjoyed themselves. We had climbing, sailing, gorge walking, archery and ropes course going on. All the children had a go at doing everything - it's been lovely to see their achievements.

Last night we had a big quiz with various fun rounds and nothing serious! Then we had hot chocolate before bedtime. Hopefully, you saw the bedtime PJ photo on Twitter. We've put loads of photos and a couple of videos on Twitter - I hope you've had chance to see them. You can see how much we've enjoyed our stay. It's over too soon!

We'll be leaving about 4/4.15pm - a text will be sent when we leave. There won't be another message after that. See you back at school around 6pm.

Please do not park on the road leading up to school so we can get the coach down. Thanks!

Have a lovely day yourselves! smiley

Friday 13th May 2016

We are all having a fabulous time at Patterdale. The weather has been very kind to us!

We arrived at about 4.30pm to be greeted by the centre team. The children brought their bags in and then had their safety talk from the centre manager, Sean. Then they had about an hour to unpack and find their bearings inside the hall. Most found the games room very quickly!

Tea was at 5.30pm and was tasty and filling as usual. No-one ever goes hungry here! On the menu were pizza, fish, chips, potatoes, peas, sweetcorn and salad, followed by cake and ice cream. Fruit is always available too.

After tea, we played the phone numbers game which was great fun and tired the children out really well for bedtime. They all went up to bed at 9.10pm after hot chocolate, and it was lights out at 9.30pm. Seems pretty quiet now so fingers crossed for a good night's sleep......

Earlier in the day, we had great fun at Brockholes - it was perfect weather for it. We had our picnic lunch, played cricket, went to the shop and had a wander in the grounds. It's lovely to hear the children commenting on how much they like the landscape.

If you haven't signed up to Twitter yet, see if you can because we've put loads of pictures from today on there. It's much easier for us to put them on quickly than on this blog. Just download the free app and search for @BalshawLaneCPS.

We'll keep putting photos on Twitter tomorrow and I'll blog in the evening.

Have a peaceful day tomorrow! smiley

Sunday 28th June 2015

Morning! We are up and about again, ready for our last day. The weather is lousy but everyone looks happy. The children have had another great night's sleep, in fact we had to prod a couple to wake up this morning!

We've got sailing, gorge walking and archery going on this morning, then we swap round for the afternoon. Prepare yourselves for lots of wet clothes to come home.....and a very tired child!!

It's been a great weekend, over too quickly. The children have been very well behaved, making it all the more enjoyable and fun for all.

I'll send a last text when we leave. See you later!

Saturday 27th June 2015

Hello again! We've had a fab day doing our activities and everyone has come back smiling. 😃 They are all safe and sound.

Tea has just finished: curry, lasagne, carbonara. All the children have had plenty to eat and they're now chilling out in the games room. In a few minutes we're going to start our quiz. We have all sorts  of rounds for fun.

The children seemed perkier at tea tonight, with lots of chat and jokes. A great atmosphere!

A couple of photos for now, we've got lots of all the children.

Saturday morning at Patterdale 27/06/15

Good morning everyone!

It's a beautiful morning up here in the Lakes and we are looking forward to a fantastic day.

All the children are looking very happy and settled this morning after an excellent night's sleep. They slept superbly and are feeling refreshed for it.

We've just finished our delicious breakfast of cereal, toast and juice followed by a cooked breakfast of choice from sausage, bacon, egg, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, potatoes. Yum! We are all feeling very full now. The children are showing lovely manners and helping to clear up after the meals.

In a few minutes we will be finding out what activities our groups are doing today. No doubt, there will be lots of excited stories to share later.

I'll blog again this evening. Enjoy your day in the sun! laugh

Hi everyone, we have arrived safely at Patterdale and are already well settled in. The children have had the chance to run around the gardens and play in the games room. We've just finished tea which was yummy: pizza, fish, sausage roll, amazing chips followed by Victoria sponge or pavlova and ice cream or fruit.

We're now going to play the 'telephone numbers' game to tire the children out as much as we can before bedtime!

Enjoy your evening - I'll blog again tomorrow.
